Emory charges a $150 specialist room fee regardless of insurance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Emory rheumatology now charges a $150 specialist room fee to EVERY patient (regardless of insurance) for EVERY visit - in addition to your copay. Considering many patients with rheumatic conditions wait years for a diagnosis, this is especially foul. How is Emory Clinic registered as a "non-profit"? Outrageous! If you see other Emory specialists, be warned, this $150 fee will likely be on your bill next!

Emory Healthcare - Thanking Aseem Kaka

I went to ENT depth at the Winship Cancer Center @ Linden Ave for a reoccurring Cyst in a tight Crack behind my ear when I shared with the Doctor about my ears being uneven from a birth defect which left no curvature shape in the cartridge of my earlobe & @ 58 years old it still causes issues when sleeping and wearing head accessories & hair styles,So Dr

KAKA immediately offered to fix my ear deformity along with removing the cyst, Ii was soo happy because I have shared my ear issues with Plenty of doctors to the point of tears almost & Dr. Kaka was the irst to show concern & offer a solution!..This was also during the Holiday time & he put me in his busy schedule immediately & My ear is perfect,my ears healed fast & very minimal scars, Dr.Kaka showed me bedside manner, explained everything, always had a bright smile & very understanding!!..I am very grateful, Thank you Dr. KAKA, you are a Godsend!!

I came in to ER with Pneumonia, shortness of breath and chest pain: I wasnt seen until 6 hours after my arrival. They draw your blood, ekg, IV, etc.

in a small cubical by the lobby and then send you back to the waiting room each time they do a step.

Once you get to the back, they give you a chair, not a bed; where you will wait even more hours to be prioritized and treated. Also, the space youll be put in is patient only, so your (1) allowed family member wont be with you.

By the time my labs came back, I was here for 13 hours. The nursing buttons in the bays are ignored; if you continue to press it, youre met with attitude.

Some of the staff can have nice attitudes when they want to but they get upset because they dont have any answers, even though youre told to ask them any questions you may have.

In addition to the horrible experience (during my 2nd visit), I was not properly cared for during my first emergency visit. I was at the midtown location where I was supposed to be treated by a Dr.

they proscribed me the wrong amount of medication, and improperly diagnosed me. Another Dr. had to catch that I had pneumonia bc she failed to order a CT scan; so my symptoms returned after taking the meds that were incorrectly prescribed.

Do yourself a favor and dont come here, go to St. Joseph or Piedmont.

This has been one of the worse hospital visits Ive known anyone to have.

These people cannot care about anyone for me to have had the type of experience that I had. Please go somewhere youll been seen, heard, and prioritized, Emory is not that place

MyChart sucks

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been trying to contact my Dr for over a week through MyChart and by calling twice. Just to have a prescription called in. This is the worst customer service I have ever had in my 56 years on the planet. Stop trying to micro manage the Dr. I hate this service. I would get another Dr but I have been with her for over 25 years. Please get rid of this service it don't work.

Emory Brain Center

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Saw Dr. Scott Firestone Emory Midtown.

Excellent. Then Emory decided to cut costs by moving everything to Executive Park Druid Hills. That is what the nightmare begins. Doctors are fair, not great outside of the few like Scott Firestone, who is exceptional.

What will drag you down is the poor caliber and nasty attitudes and incompetence of the office staff. I cannot begin to tell you how acid they were equipped with two speeds, dead stop and slow. They lost things, recorded things incorrectly, failed to respond and one day they discharged me and said "This clinic cannot meet the patients needs" and the door slammed and I am not allowed to be treated there again. Today I found this out after another representative told me that she was sending me an email to go on a waiting list.

Not getting anything on email I called back again and was told that I could not come back, that there was no waiting list and they are not taking new patients. Conflicting information I had forgotten is the hallmark of Emory Clinic. Maybe one day I will have to go to Emory again and will be glad that I did but for now I hope that I never have to set foot in an Emory Hospital or Clinic. This is why I use Piedmont.

The care is superb and the service is excellent. Emory is the big warehouse of medical care, and it has gotten worse year after year.

Some good doctors but the front office staff and billing departments are just awful. Go somewhere else.

Repeatedly billed for something I don't owe

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been sent a bill the Emory acknowledges that I do not owe repeatedly. They adjust the amount owed to $0 but the statement still shows a balance forward. This triggers another bill which has now been sent to collections.

Emory Healthcare - Continued use of false/fraudulent medical records by emory university midtown...

I want to know why in 09/2012 did Emory University Midtown hospital Atlanta, GA, ER doctors and specialists violated wife Barbara D. Bennett authority to speak for me while I was unconscious, sleep seizures that can easily be misdiagnosed for a heart attack without neurological medical records from Michigan?

She had me transported to Emory ER by ambulance for immediate neurological medical care but I was given unnecessary heart surgery, still having to give me immediate neurological medical care to keep me alive and destroyed my physical ability for life by inexperienced medical professionals failure to order my Michigan neurological medical records at my request when she knew more about my neurological medical history than any of this hospital doctors or specialists. MI neurological medical history facts indicate on the job head injury crack to my skull causing the unconscious sleep seizures that causes uncontrollable violent muscle truma that causes uncontrollable I internal body injuries and one or two temporary memory loss and getting treated by your doctors and specialists misdiagnosed unneeded heart surgery and these medical professionals using Emory University Midtown hospital Atlanta GA fraudulent medical records have made my life a living *** everyday and night 24/7.

I would expect this kind of torture as a prisoner of war in another country. I have been trying to ease my chronic body pains since 09/2012 unnecessary heart surgery.

I had services on Dec 15, 2022. I had hit my out of pocket maximum with my insurance company and Emory is in Network. However several months later I started receiving bills and then got turn over to outside collections for an outstanding balance that I have an EOB for that states I owe nothing. They will not accept any evidence I have from the insurance company. I have now filed a formal compliant with the State of Georgia and it looks like I am forced to hire an Attorney.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Inputting wrong information in my patient records regarding cancer diagnosis. I am not positive for BRACA 1 or BRACA 2. I have no family history of family mutation as verified the Winship Cancer Institute cancer screening. I have no malignancy according to pathology report from Northside, but Emory put I have right breast cancer malignancy. I am furious. Do not use EPIC because they share your personal information with other healthcare providers..isnt this a HIPPA violation?

Poor customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been coming to Emory for twenty years now. My doctors are wonderful, skilled hard working professionals. Too bad the same cannot be said about the front office and management of this health system. Customers are not their top priority. I am not sure where they think the funds come from that pay their salaries. Certainly not falling like mana from heaven. The money that pays their wages are paid by all the customers that they treat like dirt on their shoes. So sad. Such fabulous doctors working with such lackluster office and management.

No urgency

Original review Feb 15, 2023

Emory university hospital missed a retinal vein occlusion on my mother and misdiagnosed it as a cat scratch symptom. Sent her home with no meds and did not take care of her impaired vision.

Told her to follow up with an ophthalmologist ( who had no availability ) finally harassed their offices for one because HER VISION IS FAILING, just for them to say oh its a clot not an infection. Sent her back to the emergency room for her to be sitting there for 3+ plus without being seen. I am absolutely horrified at what this medical institution is turning into. A stroke ..

sitting in the ER after being missed the first time by that same exact staff. Negligent.

Billing resolution

Unbelievably rude billing department. The woman answered and rudely interrupted me before I was able to complete my question.

Her rudeness continued throughout the [attempted] conversation because she had her own ideas what was the reason for my call. Needless to say I never received an answer to my billing inquiry. I will let them wait and wait and wait. Disgusting!

Someone must check on those people's professionalism and behavior. They are dealing with people and not cattle.

This woman [I cannot call her lady] is a very miserable person in her job so she needs to get another one. Like maybe landscaping where she can be rude to the grass.
